NSF award supports research on termite collective nest construction
The Mizumoto Lab received an NSF award to study the mechanisms and evolution of collective nest construction in termites.
The project combines comparative behavioral experiments, international fieldwork, video analysis, modeling, and phylogenetic analysis. It will also support two PhD students beginning in Fall 2027.
